Welcome to North Presentation Secondary School, Farranree, Cork. We are an all girls secondary school with a long and proud tradition of serving the educational needs of our community on the north side of Cork City. This distinctive record spans the past 200 years and we continue to be inspired by our foundress Nano Nagle who regarded education as the development of the whole person. She placed great emphasis on the academic, spiritual, physical and social growth of each individual student. As a school community we continue to nurture the uniqueness of our students and we strive to educate each young person to reach her potential and enable her to be the best that she can be.
We are always seeking educational opportunities to support our students and over the years we have introduced and developed many new programmes and initiatives from the Department of Education and Skills. We offer all the educational programmes - Junior Cert, Junior Cert Schools Programme (JCSP), Transition Year (non-compulsory), Leaving Cert, Leaving Cert Applied (LCA) and Leaving Cert Vocational Programme (LCVP). We have small class groups and excellent exam results. According to educational research female students do better academically when they are in an all girls school. We are continually adapting and responding to the needs of our students in a rapidly changing world.
Our students are provided with the opportunity to be involved in a wide range of inspiring projects during their school life - The Young Scientist Exhibition, Junior Achievement Awards, Business in the Community, Young Social Innovators, UCC Triz Programme, Mini Company, Be Real, European Comenius Project with partner schools in Italy, Norway, Germany, France and Spain to name but a few. Students are also actively involved in our leadership and support groups within the school such as the Meitheal Programme, Anam Chara, and Class Prefect system. Through these varied opportunites we foster self-esteem and self-belief in our students and develop their skills for life.
School life is multi faceted, along with our high expectations for students to reach their potential in the state exams we also develop their social awareness by raising funds for worthy causes during their time in school. Over the years we have raised money for Our Lady's Hospital, Crumlin, Marymount, Irish Heart Foundation, Cystic Fibrosis and more recently we have funded a student and teacher exchange trip through a Worldwise Irish Aid project with our Presentation Partner School in India. Our fundraising is organised annually by teachers and students working together voluntarily to showcase the talents of our students through our show "North Pres Idol" , our Transition Year Fashion Show and our Healthy Fun Day.

Working in close partnership with you, we want your daughter to be happy here, to achieve academically, to use and develop her many skills, aptiitudes and talents and to develop as a caring, sensitive and respectful young person as she confidently takes her place in society.
